Summer-Reading-Program

Readers assemble! The Library is forming a team of super readers this summer during the 99th annual Summer Reading Program, “Everyday Superheroes.” The program runs June 4 – July 28 at all IndyPL locations and the bookmobiles, inspiring children, teens and their caregivers to punch up their reading skills over the summer. The program is built on the popularity of superheroes of comics and movies, but it unmasks Everyday Superheroes who are making a difference in our city every day!

The program features both Super Reads and Super Deeds! First, participants can earn points for the books they read (or read to young children) to trade in for prizes such as tickets to sporting events, cultural attractions and more. Participants can also be a daring do-gooder by donating either books from home or books earned with program points to help the Library collect 5,000 books this summer for Books for Youth to give to Hoosier kids who need them most.

For more information about the program, visit indypl.org/events/srp2018! An Adult Summer Reading Program is also in store for grown-up readers to explore good books about unlikely heroes. Check out the events and reading list at indypl.org/events/srp2018/adults!
