When Katz, Sapper & Miller wanted to celebrate their 75th anniversary, they turned to The Indianapolis Public Library. This month, Central Library is recognizing its centennial with the installation of “The Cret Building at 100,” a permanent exhibit about the original Cret building. The 16-panel exhibit details the building’s history and how it became a defining part of Indianapolis’ culture over the past 100 years.

One of Katz, Sapper & Miller’s founders, Irwin “Irv” Katz, held a strong passion for books and a devotion to community service. As the firm grew, supporting the community continued to be an integral part of their identity. Their generous gift to create “The Cret Building at 100” is greatly appreciated.

The exhibit will first open to the public during Central Library’s Centennial Celebration on October 7, and will then be on display around the balcony of the Simon Reading Room during regular Central Library hours.
